Fees

Fees, honestly

I publish my fees because I think it’s the right thing to do. It saves you the awkwardness of asking, and it lets you decide whether what I offer fits what you can afford before we ever get on a call. Below are my standard rates, my sliding scale, what I take in-network, and the rest of the practical stuff that’s good to know.

Standard fee

$150per 55-minute session

Standard fee

That’s the rate that supports a small enough caseload to do this work attentively — about 18–20 clients on the books, room between sessions to actually think about each person, and the kind of office that doesn’t feel like a clinic.

Sliding scale

A few slots at reduced rates

I keep a few slots reserved at reduced rates. The sliding scale is for people who would benefit from this work but for whom the standard fee would mean choosing between therapy and other necessities. You can ask. I don’t require documentation; I trust you to know your situation. Slots are reviewed every 6 months.

  • Tier 1

    Household income $45–75K

  • Tier 3

    Household income under $45K

Currently 2 of 4 sliding-scale slots open.

Insurance

In-network with Aetna and Cigna

If your insurance is Aetna and Cigna, your copay applies and I’ll bill them directly. For most other insurance plans, I’m out-of-network — which means you pay my standard fee at the time of session, and I provide a superbill (an itemized receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurance needs) so you can submit for reimbursement on your own. Out-of-network reimbursement varies a lot by plan; if you want, I can help you check what yours covers before we start.

Good Faith Estimate

Required, on request

Under the No Surprises Act, I’m required to give you a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before we start. It protects you from unexpected bills. If you’d like one, just ask — I’ll send it before our first session. Official guidance is at cms.gov/nosurprises if you want to read more.

Not sure where you fall?

If you’re trying to figure out whether this fits your budget — or you just want to ask about something I haven’t covered here — that’s exactly what the consultation is for.
